Drying Cedars

Drying on the lakeside of Kasumigaura
Depending on the weather, it usually takes about two months to dry cedar completely.

Cedars should be exposed not only to the sun but also to rain and wind. The exposure removes harshness from them. Cedars can last longer if harshness is removed while drying. In order to keep them straight, they should be placed upright for drying, and if they are warped, they should be returned to the original shape. Such sensitivity is always required in drying cedar trees.
