The Function of Dashibo Bars

Long bamboo bars are attached to the stem and stern. They work to unfurl the sail wide and to spread the net.
They are particularly useful for unfurling the sail wide. The wider the sail spreads, the bigger the area to receive the wind becomes, which then accelerates the speed of the boat and catches more fish.
Using dashibo bars increases the area of the sail by nearly 50%, thus naturally enhancing the force to drag the net.
