Genno hammer for kigoroshi

■ In the process of kigoroshi, boards are beaten all over evenly. Boards should be nailed together on the same day. A time slot for fine and dry weather (about from 10:00 to 15:00) should be chosen for this work. The drier boards are, the more effective kigoroshi works and the boards get dented.

	■ As time passes, the beaten area returns to the original condition. This method aims to make joints stick together utilizing the restoring force of wood.

■ Beating and pressing the wood for compression When boats are put on the water, the boards swell with water so that no water leaks due to the increase in connecting power.
